作曲家比米什对《月牙街》（Crescent）组曲全部五个乐章的创作说明（译自 Wise Music Classical 官方曲目介绍）：
第一乐章 荡秋千（Swing）
许多年后，我母亲卖掉了我们在伦敦Barnsbury长大的那栋古怪而曲折的房子，我回去看了看。奇怪的是，在我曾经的卧室窗口看到了一个小女孩。后来，当我遇到搬进来的那家人时，我发现这个小女孩后来成了一名中提琴手。
这套组曲是一系列微型画，是对我在那栋房子里童年的一瞥。那里总是有音乐——我哥哥吹小号，母亲拉小提琴；父亲是一名不错的业余长笛手和歌手；而我患有唐氏综合征的弟弟，则是他那庞大黑胶唱片收藏的狂热指挥。
我们住在一个月牙形街区（Crescent）——六栋房子围绕着一片草地和灌木丛，那是孩子们的乐园。乐曲以一个静止的空秋千开场，随后逐渐被推动摆动起来。我吹小号的哥哥痴迷于足球和自行车；我弟弟则满足于看着我们发明游戏，其中一种游戏涉及秋千、自行车和足球——我们称之为"Oily Oily"。但没人记得为什么叫这个名字，也不记得规则是什么……
