鲁蒙・甘巴与 BBC 威尔士国家管弦乐团推出了他们探索英伦诸岛鲜为人知序曲系列的第二辑。

在介绍这些被忽视的作品时，这位指挥家解释道：“这张唱片中的所有序曲都创作于 1890 年至 1945 年期间。然而，在这一精选集中，我们或许能更清晰地看到音乐风格的演变，尤其是英国作曲家在创作中对和声的运用。”

他还补充说：“似乎很偶然，我们这张唱片贯穿了一个航海主题（《统治吧，不列颠尼亚！》在两首序曲中都有出现！），其中最知名的作品可能要数沃尔顿的《朴茨茅斯角》。我惊讶地发现，这部小杰作的录音相对较少。同样让我诧异的是，我了解到 BBC 威尔士国家管弦乐团已经很多年没有演奏过这部作品了。所以，它与《不列颠尼亚》《水手长的助手》《普利茅斯 Hoe》以及《汤姆・鲍林》一起，成为了完美的航海主题之选。”
