卡洛·多明尼康尼既是知名吉他演奏家，也是作曲家，创作作品逾150部，以极具冲击力且独具一格的方式融合东西方音乐元素。《辛巴达童话》（吉他独奏）是其充满想象力风格的典范之作，亦是吉他独奏文献中极为杰出的作品之一，生动勾勒出《一千零一夜》中航海冒险家辛巴达波澜壮阔的旅程。
乐曲取材多元，融合波斯东方调式、阿拉伯乌德琴装饰音技法与现代拓展演奏技巧，通过三个篇章，铺陈出辛巴达游历途中浓郁的中东风情。

《一千零一夜》中辛巴达有七次航海，多明尼康尼《辛巴达童话》不是按逐次航海配乐，而是重新艺术创作。三段式结构（21曲），第1套曲：出发 → 海难 → 大鹏鸟 → 钻石谷 → 初步归航；第2套曲：风暴 → 绝望 → 巨人与矮人 → 逃生 → 成婚 → 活埋；第3套曲：风暴 → 绝望 → 巨人与矮人 → 逃生 → 成婚 → 活埋。
第1套曲（对应：第一次～第三次航海）
1. 巴格达，辛巴达在巴格达的家，故事开始的起点
2. 辛巴达，主角富商、航海家辛巴达登场
3. 辛巴达的航行，第一次航海：出海远行
4. 与海浪的搏斗，多次航海中都有的风暴海难，尤其第一次航海
5. 大鹏鸟之卵，第二次航海：巨鸟“洛克（Roc）”的蛋
6. 蛇谷中的采钻人，第三次航海：蛇谷、钻石谷、巨蛇
7. 归航，每次航海后平安返回巴格达的意象
