   布雷特・迪恩在2020年至2023年期间担任伦敦爱乐乐团的驻团作曲家；此次发行的专辑汇集了他任职期间在音乐会上现场录制的七部作品。在五位杰出指挥家以及五位优秀独奏家的共同协作下，伦敦爱乐乐团巧妙地驾驭了迪恩管弦乐作品的多样风貌，从《中提琴协奏曲》和《大提琴协奏曲》里生动的音响效果与精湛技巧展现，到《在希望中抵御绝望》（In spe contra spem）中蕴含的戏剧性 —— 该作品引用了伊丽莎白一世女王和苏格兰玛丽女王的书信及演讲内容，再到具有戏剧色彩的手风琴作品《演员们》，这部作品重温了迪恩于2017年荣获大奖的歌剧《哈姆雷特》中的场景。
